On 02 March, Christal Lalla performed her new wine class concept in combination with a fine dinner at Christian and Eva Orator’s beautiful and exclusive location in Rueschlikon at Lake Zurich with a wonderful scenic view over the lake and the mountains. Christian and Eva Orator are the owners of the highly decorated Orator Distillery at Pfungen near Zurich, a shooting star in Switzerland (‘Best Newcomer 2017’).

The idea of the event was to provide the participants with some basic and advanced knowledge about the Sangiovese Grosso grape and Brunello production in Montalcino in the past and in our days in a lambent way. The knowledge was imparted with some slides and detailed in personal conversations with all guests around the table which made it possible to cover all individual questions. The presentation was accompanied by tasting excellent wines – Rosso di Montalcino as well as Brunello di Montalcino from different producers from different parts of the official Brunello producing area – and by pairing the wines with well-fitting food. The event was rounded out by a 3-D virtual reality video about a Montalcino Wine Tour.

The participants were enthusiastic about ease – learning and enjoying without the feeling of efforts – and all the new knowledge they got about one of the most famous grapes of the world. It was for sure supportive that Christal’s style is very charming and individual and not lecturing.
